Pushing Bills on the Online Road to Payment Freedom

Have you ever heard of automatic payments of monthly bills? Internet banking has that feature. You could also set up so you could pay the bills individually. Paying bills this way eliminates the hassle of walking through several institutions personally. If you are interested, here’s some information on how to initialize the process.

The service for bill payment online has varying fees, depending on the Internet bank Company and its policies. For those that require paying fees, the range will be under 10 dollars every month. This takes into account the amount of bills you will pay. They will also charge you additional fees if you put in more bills in the setup, which generally falls to 50 cents or under for each bill.

There may be offers by the bank that allow this service to be free of charge when certain conditions are met. These stipulations are usually for you to have a qualifying account, and the amount varies depending on the bank. Some banks though do it as some sort of reward if you have a large balance. The requirement may be as high as $5000 or as low as a thousand.

Enrolling is also easy. Just go to the bank of your choice’s website and find the link labeled as such. You will then be brought to the page where you can manage the setup for paying the bills. Bear in mind the vital information of the payees you’re going to include, like the zip code and the address. Some Internet banks require such data for the setup to be complete. Sometimes though, the bank will offer you the list of companies that may be one of your payees. If you find them in it, just click on their name/s.

Of course, you have to assign the specific account, the pool from which the receiver would get the payment. If you have more than one account, this will be imperative. It’s not that complicated, since the bank will compile your accounts and it will appear to you as a list when you’re already on the process of doing it.

Take note though that once you applied for this, it will not take effect immediately. That said, you could have a set period of time before the payments get out of your account. The limit for this period is usually up to only a year.

Now for the meat of the automatic payments. You have the option for recurring payments to be set up so that it comes out of your account in regular intervals. But you should consider these types of setups as strict commitments. These payments will automatically continue even if you have a low balance (in which case, overdraws will occur up to a point). So always watch out if you still have enough money to use this process.

For confirmation if the payee did receive the payments, you can choose to have notifications through email. These mails will come to you after every transaction made, so it will be easy to track. When you log on to your account, you can also see records of the transactions that happened. With this, you can check if the system is working correctly. The next bills from your selected payees would also reflect the payments that were accounted for in your balance.

It is easy to see how convenient online bill payments can be. No longer will you wait, rather forcefully, for the flood of bills that would come knocking at your door. With just a little expertise, the distribution of the payments would be trouble-free, and it will be one less thing you would worry about.
